There is no charge for partricipation at an NEDEG Rally other than the admission to the respective dive park we are holding the Rally at. The only requirements to dive are a current C-Card (Certification Card) and the general physical ability to handle the gear. We make no guarantee of time or equipment availability but will make a sincere effort to get any qualified diver a dive.

To dive the MKV rig.To dive the MkV or any other heavy rig, we require a certain level of participation and instruction. The prospective diver needs to:

Get familiar(1) Get a basic equipment familiarization session,

SuperliteAH2(2) make a surface-supplied dive (if you've never dived an umbilical before) in a SuperLite (Above L) or other
Lightweight rig like an AH2 (Above R),

Tending(3) Work as tender dressing at least one other diver in the gear you will be diving.

We've found that this makes the heavy gear dive less "overwhelming" by getting the new diver familiar with both the equipment and the underwater environment of the quarry.

This procedure is handled on a time-available basis, so at least one full day's participation is usually required, and we always appreciate help in handling the gear and tending the dive site. The equipment is all privately owned and made available on a voluntary basis, so respect for the gear and the concerns of owners is expected.

SEGWe try to maintain a friendly atmosphere on the deck but expect the participants to keep in mind that diving is serious business where safety is our foremost concern. However,  that big grin when your faceplate is opened after the dive makes it all worth the effort!
